The Protestant work ethics I was raised with are showing.

I share your work ethic. But I don't disapprove of making capital work, in general, if for no reason other than workers need capital investment if they're to work.

I do disapprove of gambling in the name of investments, though. If they wanted to tax derivatives, say, at a higher rate than investments and labor, I wouldn't object.
