The new phones won't be rolling out for a couple more months. I'm sure they will charge a premium, especially with the MiFi build in. But, that would let me get rid of my aircard which would be a positive tradeoff. I really can't understand why Sprint is waiting til this summer to roll out the new phone. But, it would be nice to have something other than Palm Pre's to choose from at Sprint.

Clearwire is charging $50 a month for unlimited 4G service, but they lack a decent set of handsets to choose from. If I could get the Google handset for $50 a month unlimited, with the MiFi included, that would be a no brainer.

High speed from Clear costs $30 a month. It will be interesting to see what they charge for high speed and voice. Sprint is charging something like $42.50 a month for unlimited voice and 3G data. I really don't know what Clear intends to do about voice fees. Within a fixed area, you could just use free voip services. Once you roam outside your home area, the 4G would be completely useless.

I suspect all of the 4G phones will need to be dual mode for the first couple of years, including the LTE phones for VZ's CDMA network and ATT's WCDMA network. I wonder if Apple doesn't have it's sights on dual mode 3G/4G LTE iPhones for this summer's new phones.

It seems less likely that Apple would make a 3G/4G Wimax phone for VZ and a 3G/4G LTE phone for VZ. I would be less likely to change from Sprint to Verizon this year even if VZ did get the iPhone as long as Sprint had a good voice and data package for a 4G phone.
