my position is that public agencies are essential. this is a centrist position. unions have been reduced to minimal impact.

most economists consider friedman's and hayek's views to be extreme. this is not to call them fools, however.

i think your points are more persuasive without name calling. but maybe that's just me.

There seems to be agreement:

- Globalization is putting pressure on private wages
- Unemployment will stay high for awhile

Yet in this environment government wages and benefits should be exempt from these pressures?
