Exactly! I'm aware of many public-sector unions in my country where wage gains have been limited to 2.5% or less for a decade.

In 2006/7/8 private-sector wages were rising so fast and so far that the public sector couldn't retain workers - particularly WRT to skilled trades. The public sector was holding Job Fairs in a desperate attempt to attract workers --- who were leaving their union jobs.

Now that the financial sector has bankrupted the economy, (but still retained its favored position at the trough) public sector unions are the goat.

Of course, this diverts people's attention from the true criminals, and the incompetents in management and elites, political and otherwise.
