My experience with tech support people over the last couple of years has been pretty bad. I don't know what happened to all the good ones, most now a days are clueless and it's hard to believe they can hold a position as a tech support technician.

Bad, clueless tech supports I have run into this year:
Microsoft
Lenovo
Seagate
Acronis

Years ago I had really good luck with Microsoft, but they are pretty bad now.

(my I/O parity BSOD)

So, the problem seemed to go away, but today
I installed ATI's Catalyst Control Center
(my video kept stalling/freezing when I switched
to full screen).

Again, right at bios check
I/O card parity interrupt at 0000:0077
Death!

So after a couple attempts and even a safe
boot to poke around, I finally remembered that
there is one lone video setting in this PC's
bios that I can change, so...

"SERR DMI" whateverthehell that is, is now disabled

and everything is great now, no tech
support required!

Today was a good day.
