I've seen so many alternative energy companies come along over the years that said they were within a few years of a commercially viable (cheap enough) product that would provide the masses with cheap clean energy. I will believe it when I see it from Bloom Energy. Just another of a trash heap of alt.energy claims for now.

One nice benefit of locally generated electricity is that we could get rid of those ugly power lines and use the right of ways as bike trails and other uses.

Magic box + natural gas -> electricity + CO2, right in your own house.
As opposed to utility co + NG -> elec + CO2 right down the road
