Another reason is so that parents can feel a little more comfortable giving their kids an iPhone, Touch or iPad. Sure they can still get smut from the Internet, but at least they are not downloading it directly from the Apple store. A fine but significant distinction for the Apple brand. As much as I absolutely abhor censorship of any kind, I totally agree with you. Steve (and Woz) having once been hacker pranksters, understand fully what is and what is not possible with computers. I think it is a wise idea to limit the Apple controlled universe to only stuff that is acceptable, by the general public. Yes, we all know we can get EVERYTHING on-line. Does not mean Apple should be the vendor of highly questionable content. There are other outlets for that. This is not censorship. It is very wise, selective marketing. Makes clean, Apple brand business sense.
