To All: Listen to Intel founder Gorden Moore speak about shrinking IC size:

developer.intel.com

You'll need the RealPlayer media player plug in (available at the site free).

Moore talks about:

---why smaller and smaller chip size "violates Murphy's Law"---the smaller things get, the faster they operate, the less power they use, the more efficient they are to manufacture, etc. etc.;

---Intel "soon to be moving to .25" photolithography;

---Why the industry has always rapidly retooled their fabs to stay ahead of the competition (happening now);

---how optical lithography will suffice through .18 micron lithogrpahy, which he considers the next generation.

Moore shows an audio/visual display of .25 Pentium circuitry.

Very interesting stuff.

Happy streaming,
