Heroin is illegal, across the globe for an obvios reason. Cigarettes, on the other hand, are legal, across the globe, with exceptions. Yes but Alcohol and Tobacco are so healthy. In England where Heroin is given to junkies the crime rate amongst that population is much lower than here in America where addicts are considered criminals not disabled. Satire although a difficult concept for some to grasp is part of the plus of this thread. In the words of my favorite cartoon character, "RELAX"!

It's basically because of Christian culture. Ask any junkie standing outside a Narcotics Anonymous meeting which is harder to quit: Cigarettes Heroin

It doesn't harm your body the way cigarettes do. If you can get a clean, reliable supply, and have people around you to remind you to eat and things like that, you can live for sixty or seventy years on heroin. It was first introduced to the United States by Bayer, which gave it the name Heroin in 1895. They marketed it as a cough remedy. Aspirin was introduced around the same time.
