The HD material is from the content provided in iTunes.

There is just no Blue Ray recording on internal Blue Ray drives. You can however connect Blue Ray drives externally and record to them with software like Toast.

There is no way to play HD or Blue Ray disks on Apple's Super drives which I stated in the above line previously.

If you want to play HD or Blue Ray disks you must purchase an external Drive and connect that drive to your Mac with either a Firewire, USB or Esata cable and card.

Hope this explanation clears things up.
