Not like we have no skin in the game.. and frankly the outpouring for the fallen is up here has likely not been seen since the World Wars..

Think I'm missing something here.. I was referring to those who accuse the US of engaging in "Imperialism" when it's obvious that others (like China) are seeing benefit from US actions.

I don't think that China would be receiving oil concessions in Iraq, or setting up copper mining operations in Afghanistan if the US was engaged in Imperialism.

And I certainly applaud those who recognize the sacrifices of the fallen soldiers. Their's is a dirty, dangerous job where mistakes are not oft forgiven and their accomplishments credited to Generals and politicians.

Can you tell that I'm a political cynic..

LOL!! I hope for the best, but I expect the worst.. ;0)

You need to save more like China and China needs to spend more like you...

Kind of difficult to save money when one is on unemployment and food stamps. Demand drives supply, which drives employment. There are those who have the capital and resources, but not the motivation to spend. I'm interested in ways to change that so we can get people working again.

At the very least, if we're going to have people on welfare, then I guess it makes sense to employ them productively on projects that benefit society. But I prefer we do that with Federal spending directed to contracted private businesses, rather than employing them directly to the public payroll.

I believe it's much better but I'm Cute and Cuddly modest Canuck still :O)

You should charge (at least a beer and pretzels).. LOL!!
