Frankly, I think TM is being hung out to dry ... 34 deaths over about 7-8 years for all their cars doesn't seem out of line. Coincidentally, I just got my latest issue of Consumer Reports which is focused on the 2010 cars and the reliability records of all cars... Looking at the data, the numbers for Toyota vehicles are nothing short of outstanding including brake problems..... My family and I have and have had at least 10 Japanese cars...two Toyota's in a row for my wife including a Prius which I also love....I have a BMW which sits in the garage if my wife is not using her car...

I can't prove there is some sort of conspiracy, but things look funny. Pulling TM back down to the rest of the industry
can only help Detroit.... I want to get the detailed story of that woman whose Lexus raced up to 100 mph which she couldn't stop.....I've heard no mention of her just turning the key off.
I had an experience exactly like that back in the 60's with a brand new Chevy....I put the car in passing gear and the pedal got stuck under the firewall partition...... I had to turn the key off....
