Kerm / Hibernia

No kidding. More than a long time. I stand to be corrected on this, but I think the initial discoveries were made in the early 80s, say 15 years ago. The following 10 years were mostly taken up with oil companies looking for subsidies or dropping out of the consortium for lack of sufficient subsidies, and the federal and provincial governments arguing over who had jurisdiction (and were entitled to royalties). I'd be interested to see just how many people would have believed in 1987 that there would actually be production from Hibernia in 1997. Anwyay, it's about time they got a break in Newfoundland.
