BTW, I can attest to Krauthammer's Vioxx story. I took it for years. When it was pulled my rheumatologist immediately switched me to Celebrex [another COX-2 inhibitor]. Because the withdrawal of Vioxx was hyped up I didn't know the real risks.

I decided not to take the Celebrex out of fear it too would soon be pulled. It took about 3 days before I realized how effective Vioxx had been. I felt like I had the flu with everything aching 24/7. I took the Celebrex.

Knowing what I know now, I'd go back on Vioxx & accept the risk.
