As far as I'm concerned, one of the great disappointments of this present moment is the failure to push in this direction. Large majorities in the House and Senate and control of the WH and the Dems refused to even have a hearing on single payer in the Senate.

Their bad.

I agree. Everytime I see something about the current proposal that I think is weak, it leads me back to single-payer being the solution.

If we can't adopt some kind of hybrid single-payer system in the US, then I personally would rather see nothing done right now than have this big comprehensive plan the Dems are proposing. Why? Because it's really looking like the Dems don't have the guts to ram through the obvious methods of getting the thing paid for.
