There are legal issues here too. Apple does not want to go to court for selling porn to minors. That would be a waste both financially and publicity wise.

Movies are already rated. Apple doesn't really have to bother with them. Libraries don't rent porn that I know of but I just rented Last Tango from mine and I'm sure that Catcher in the Rye is available.

This is really not a problem of Apple's making but I think they do have to be careful.

Personally I could care less, but I do think parents have a right to control their kids, even if they do a bad job.

As for real hard core porn, as I said, when I was young I worked in that industry. In my opinion it's 98% controlled by the Mafia. I have no doubt my bosses were Mafioso and I see no change in the industry. These people actually do the things you see in the Sopranos.
