Former prime minister called on for his expertise in eliminating deficits while he was finance minister in the '90s

ROTF... That's rich and easy... what's to ask ? Cut off transfer payments and tell the provinces and municipalities it's not my problem anymore..

and of course the provinces and cities never recovered from the Martinizing (anyone remember One-Hour Martinzing LOL) and here we are again.. gheesh..

That's a hoot.. It'll keep me chuckling all weekend...

following in the wake of the old Elvis Costello tune..
I used to be disgusted... now I try to be amused..
and the angels wanna wear my red shoes...

Martin should tell the truth for once. Initiate a goods and services tax and sign a free trade deal, then sell off any industry the country has, and cut any money you give to any other level of government..... the lower levels of government may be broke but your stupid citizens will blame them for the problems!
