Bulba,
Since I've had a glass of wine tonight and am in my cups, I propose we contestants award $10 (or more) to the charity of our contest anchor man* (person for you purists); i.e., the one who ends up tenth in our contest at the end. Just a little sumpin to generate some interest.

*At the U.S. Naval Academy the anchor man is the one who "attains" the lowest passing average over the four-year Academy course. Instead of the tenth person, our anchor man could be the one who amasses the lowest POSITIVE yearly gain of our contestants.

Disclosure: I'm going to have to improve my gains SIGNIFICANTLY to have a chance at anchor man

3/5/10 Update
Apparently succumbing to a bout of March Madness, frenzied investors once again frantically flung their savings at stocks. At Friday's close, the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 2.52% YTD (vs. down -1.36% YTD a week ago). And despite the Medivation disaster, the Nasdaq Biotech Index closed the week up 9.00% YTD (vs. up 4.18% YTD a week ago), while the Contest median closed up 8.83% YTD (vs. up 3.28% YTD a week ago).
Our leader, WYD's portfolio, had another dynamite week and is now up 41.67% YTD, with GEORGIA's portfolio (up 31.22% YTD) and PGO's portfolio (up 28.72% YTD) trailing in the No. 2 & No. 3 spots. But watch your back guys. Bulba's portfolio jumped three full spots last week, from No. 32 to No. 29. At that rate it will be No. 1 before Memorial Day!
At Friday's close, 27 of the 32 Contest portfolios were in the black and 16 of the 32 were beating the NBI.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the week's Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week (foreign stock prices are not converted to US$ in these two tables).
Enjoy your Olympic-free weekend biotechies!
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.)
