I knew a fellow who worked for for NYC as a cleaning man, cleaning city offices. He retired - I believe, after 20 years - on the very day when he became eligible for lifelong medical and pension. For the rest of his life NY taxpayers will have the privilege of supporting him and his wife.

I knew many NYC public school teachers who retired quite young on what is far more than an average family income. Plus benis, of course.

We have our wise politicians to thank for arranging all those sweet deals. Too bad they may prove to be unsustainable.

(BTW, how much do you guys think it costs to cross a NYC bridge? Last I saw, $5.50. That's 11 bucks for a round trip from one part of the same city to another).

though reference to the greed of the super wealthy is accurate. just check the transfer of income form the middle class to the top 1-5% during the past 10-20 years of friedmanist neoliberalism.

To put it in its proper context, the average SF Transit worker's pay is $64000+ a year, while paid benefit's are around $29000+ a year.... that's just the Average.......

other major cities, Transit workers, around the country are $49000+... on average....

Just in case you were wondering...
