But with northward drift from Waikato, that would explain Piha, Waiuku and that part of the coastline, not to mention Whatipu, but not Taharoa and points south of the Waikato outlet.

And if the Waikato river sent out iron oxides then the Wanganui river would have done too. Where did it go?

Of course the Waikato is much bigger than the Wanganui.
