It's a question of choices and costs, especially political costs. Do we really want to start crying Uncle (Sam) before we try other means?

The only other means we could try is a true free market system... which would mean everyone giving up their employer paid health care. What are the odds of that? Zero.

I was reading somewhere the other day that abortions are the real test of a free market.... they are rarely covered by insurance, are complex and dangerous, but are very cheap. Because they are free market.

If you can figure a way to get from here to there, great. I don't see it. No politician would propose doing away with employer paid insurance... they would be toast.

I've always said our best solution, right now is single payer. But I realize that's politically impossible. You want a free market, certainly you have to realize that's politically impossible. So.... from where we are right now, where do we go? The road we're on leads to ruin.
