With the stocks listed that I know about I would have to disagree. GAP hasn't paid a dividend for a few years. CKE hasn't raised in over two years. SVU cut last year. SLE and CAG cut in 2006.

I'd rather ( and have in both accounts ) go with SYY. More like supplying shovels for the gold miners.

the only observation I have wrt to that article is that I've read quite a few other analysis articles that talk about how the working poor never had role models to teach them how to shop for groceries and cook at home, and/or don't have time working 2-3 jobs and simply eat the majority of their meal at fast food restaurants.

That is probably one reason for the move to privatize CKE., but I wouldn't necessarily say that money is going to switch from fast food to grocery.

Just a thought.
