<Forgive me, Veiko, but I think you are missing the point. Centura's tools may in fact be the greatest in the world but nobody knows about them.>

You are wrong. Because Centura have community marketing strategy instead of a agressive marketing strategy, does'nt mean, that nobody knows them. Selling though OEM is much more effective, than being allways visible.

<As a tools-only company Centura would not see the new year>

Agree, but why then invest to Borland also.

<As a database-only company SQLbase may be the greatest thing since peanut butter; but if Centura has to sell its tools to survive, SQLbase may as well be sold along with them.>

There won't be exist database market, as separate market soon. Database is one component of solution. Centura understand this.

<In my very humble opinion (and I can not overemphasize this), Centura's promise lied in its plan to LEVERAGE its world-wide customer base and rapidly aging but well-liked products to make a grand entrance into the Web-enabled application and database market.>

Yes, I understood it so also.

<If Centura can no longer sell ForeSite, you can bet me another bottle of something (you never told me what and still owe me) that it will have to come up with reasons why it really never needed ForeSite in
the first place, or why some other middleware product suddenly makes more sense.>

People make mistakes.

<To believe that Centura can survive in the new Internet and Intranet centered paradigm of application development as an aging C/S company would not be totally irrational in my opinion. >

I invested to Oracle because I belived, that they will make their finacial applications run in NC interface. Currently they are only fixing Y2K problems in their apps and no promise when they do it, if they do. As Internet, I have seen only Internet media and shopping rising, but no mission critical IS on same technology. I made a full WEB interface based human resource management system six month ago, marketed it agressivly, but haven't find no customers to it.

<Are you saying that nowhere in the contract does it state that Centura has to pay its bills ?.>

Are You saying, that Centura haven't payd Infospinner license fees. I estimate, that current Foresite sales is less, than 1% of Centura total sales.

<How can Tomahawk be ahead of its competitors products when it has not
been released yet >

I will estimate betas and beta for Tomahowk is available, stabile and aswer to his specifications.

The key thing is for Centura to find another hit OEM product, besides SQLBase. It was suppose to be Foresite, but it was like SQLHost. I have my expectations on Guest/WEB. And if speaking about products distributions, there can be Foresite or NetDynamics or any of the middleware tools.
