You're not upset but you can call people bigots for disagreeing with you.

I think I had (one is dead now) two cousins that were gay but it doesn't affect my opinion on this. I don't think a gay child would either.

for giving gays the right to civil unions recognized in every US state.

They shouldn't be allowed to adopt kids, so there is no reason to have a civil union law.
