Well, he was serious enough to SUPPORT the 'strong' version of the commission anyway.

The one that Congress would have been forced to allow a straight up-or-down vote on their unitary recommendation.

Until some of the VERY SENATORS who had been mouthing-off for years about how "anti-deficits" they were, and who had even SPONSORED the strong version of the anti-deficit commission (up until it looked like it ACTUALLY MIGHT PASS. Oh, the horrors of actually having to walk the anti-deficit walk instead of just TALK the TALK! The Horrors!) caused these pusillanimous frauds to flip-Flop and vote against it.

(Just two or three weeks *after* these same frauds voted against Pay-As-You-Go budgeting rules.....)

And he was serious enough to actually ESTABLISH by Presidential Order the strongest version of an anti-deficit commission that was possible --- after the gutless flip-floppers spiked the enen stronger version....

So, i suppose that there is 'serious' in mere RHETORIC... and there is 'serious' in ACTIONS.

Big difference between the two.
