it's about what kind of a nation we want to have here in a generation or two.

I agree and you guys have lots to think about but the last quarter century of excesses and naked capitalism have not worked either.. When I was a kid credit cards just started coming out.. Remember ideas like Christmas Clubs.. or lay away.. and the financial system bailout has got to be the biggest example of socialism gone wrong I've seen since Soviet union.. They got rule by mafia ... you get rule by Goldman et al.. I'm only saying that eliminating the unions may feel good but it won't fix the problem.. just hide the festering a little longer.. You need to be asking your elected representatives as to why they are so free with your dough.. I was frankly shocked (and concerned, since our economy is so tied to yours) on the recent court decision to allow corporations to contribute at will to political parties.. Basically your representatives are for sale to the highest bidder.. graft and influence peddling should be underground not encouraged and mainstream..

I still contend that public service unions are a symptom and not the cause.. You guys really need to evaluate your entire system..
