Yes, all true. The CDT positive is what makes your doctor tell you at the annual check-up, that 'maybe you should consider quitting drinking for 6-8 weeks or so'. That's when your bad conscience hits your mind and you go on the waggon for 2 boring months with no red wine with the food and what have you.

My brother in law, an MD tells me, that CDT goes positive if you just sniffed to a glass of wine the day before the test.

I had a test for a major life insurance coming up and was recommended to stay away from the booze for 4 weeks before that test...

Now, that said, when the liver starts showing signs of taking a beating, the case is already far gone and just quitting may not help much.

Or just like George Best, that fantastic UK soccer player, who ruined 2 livers from boozing too much. Yes, first his own and next his transplant. Very thirsty indeed, I guess.
