It's stunning how public sector wages can rise in the face of what should be increased competition for those jobs from laid-off private sector workers.

In addition to the Fed pay far outpacing private, recall that Fed pensions and healthcare tend to be better, or at least more "reliable". Looks like somehow along the way we allowed the government to sponsor an entire privileged class. That's not good.
