We now read that Pres. Obama wants to get his Healthcare Bill passed using a simple majority. This seems in sharp contradiction to his recent proposal to attempt some form of bi-partisanship in order to come up with a more viable and acceptable Healthcare proposal that’s been discussed and debated by a wider political spectrum.

I’ve read and heard commentaries by several US correspondents (Harley Carnes is one) that this “51% majority vote” could be the death knell for the political careers of a number of Democratic politicians should they vote with the President.

I’d be interested to read your take and opinion on this one.

Perhaps it is because I’m not a very good driver and have more conversations with my insurance company than they or I would like, but I honestly can’t imagine anyone who doesn’t know the difference between liability and comprehensive, that doesn’t know who is at fault in a rear end. That that someone is a lawyer makes it even stranger. What strikes me about this is that he must have gone through life with absolutely no curiosity about the world around him, no humility about what he didn’t know and no sense that he was responsible for anything.
How many times have we been told this guy is brilliant? How many times have we been told that George Bush was not only stupid but completely lacking in intellectual curiosity?

One more point to add to my evolving Theory of Obama:

Obama has been "too cool for school" since adolescence. He never wanted to chance asking a question that would make him look ignorant.

Corollary: the more basic and commonplace a piece of information is, the greater chance Obama doesn't know it, especially if it relates to normal business practices.
