-g- ...... this is kind of funny;

""Last Monday we were puking our guts out and this week we're at the salad bar" and investors are loading up on stocks, said Irwin Michael, portfolio manager for ABC Funds in Toronto."

I agree with you and, if you don't mind my changing the topic you suggest, I have always wondered about those Lemmings and why they are willing to hurl themselves off the cliffs. What gets into them? Now it suddenly comes to me. They don't think there is a cliff coming up. They have
bought or been conditioned to the notion that its all up from here so they build up a frenizied head of steam and dash headlong into climbing the looming hill of worry leading to the glory land at the peak. They know nothing of any cliff until they see it over their shoulder.

Hornet,

I got myself whip-sawed a little last week. As I indicated to my
friends. Dorothy said it best "Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas
anymore." This past week, I knew I had heart, but you needed a brain
and courage as well. I think I learned something, but paid some more
dues.

Hi Hornet,

By george, I think you've got it! I agree that the specialists and market makers and manipulators move the market. But they do what everyone is supposed to do, buy lower and sell higher. They sell their inventories into strength and buy back when people panic. What a novel idea. If you begin to think more like them, your market timing will greatly improve. Your golf swing will also improve a little.
