I am a complete klutz--it is a testament to
these linux people that you can do this without
needing to a single command line, er, command.

I know next to nothing--so if I can do it,
anybody with patience can do it. You just can't
rush through the steps if you're a non computer
person.

The other day I thought I'd try some command
line commands at work, and I decided I'd
used the 'super user' SU in front of something...
and up comes this scary warning and that I'm going
to be reported to the administrator, ha!

No, I am a total 'noob' but you gotta start somewhere
and on your home PC (after doing several redundant
backups) is probably the place for it.
