David,

According to the last Trimble Analyst Conference Call, the alternative technology for compliance with the 911 requirement would require better timing information in the wireless towers. So, GPS timing market will grow at the expense of GPS receivers in cell-phone etc. It is too early to say which technology the wireless providers are going to select, but GPS seems to have a place in either case.
