10 year old is very smart... been evident for a long time... maybe smarter than everyone here :o) That is not the issue.. Any jackass can use a keyboard.. (that is evident even here at times ,no ?) Good cursive is like art.. . ... teaches focus.. another tool in arsenal.. I had penmanship awards as kid LOL and now I admit.. handwriting is shit... Weakens the planned thought process at times.. like my kid I can easily cope.. but arsenal is diminished...

Second.. re removal from curricula, no warning given, no discussion, IMO folks in charge are mostly not smart or responsible enough to have that power.. democratic flaw.. ongoing wider theme..

Lastly I think Mq has a point in that.. you cannot have a free for all exchange with toe stepping allowed and a choir at the same time.. and it's not like he and I always agree ...

TBO ;o)

TJ tried following that fashion for a while, but gave up on it as barbaric, reverting to his Anglo civilized style, wearing pants and being polite. <People who write small caps tend to write un-readable letters. >

He is still following the gold is good fashion and fashion it is, albeit a long-running one.

Communication by writing your own characters is doomed. Learning is taking a new direction.

While people were used to learn from people talking from a platform, aka, teachers, the knowlegde is no longer hogged by institutions called schools but spread more evenly.

I was a pioneer by learning without schools. Just seeking the paths to lead to the deep.

I sought some document in the (almost redundant desktop).
Found a document whose name made curious. I opened.

It was analysis of a song, explaining the character was not a lady but Caetano Veloso in London exile 1969.

I said to her.
"This is way beyond you. You could not have written that."
She said.
"Oh, that? I copied there because I need a printout." (Her lap top os never connected to the printer.)

She said: I copied from Wikipedia. I said: "that is cheating. They will catch you. You will never pass."

She agreed:
"That is true. If teacher get in the Internet what you wrote. It means Zero on your grades"

And why did you do it?

"I got in Wikipedia in English. Translated into Portuguese. She could not detect. Clever, uhn?"

I can't prevent her from do that. I thought.

Then if she got in English. Translating that into Portuguese, required the effort of understanding the lyrics.

Why Making Roberyo Carlos sing, as totally innocent so that the censroship would not block (we were under a military dictaorship and with Urban Guerrila raging.
Raising youth was not a good idea. So political motivated music was censored.

Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso released enormously popular albums in Brazil, Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso, respectively. The pair's fusion of bossa nova, samba and other native Brazilian folk influences, melded with politically and socially aware lyrics, kickstarted what came to be known as Tropicalia. Both musicians moved to London after a period of imprisonment for anti-government activities in Brazil.
