Just think how much breathing room we would have Yes, we'd have breathing room. But breathing room isn't the same as solving the problem. And sometimes it's a hindrance. Sometimes you have to hit bottom before you deal with solving the problem. We've bought breathing room several times on Medicare and the problem keeps getting worse. That breathing room has led many people to the notion that that model is not only workable for seniors but should be available to everyone. That's what breathing room gets you--a sense of immunity to the problems.
