Re: "The main problem with "too big to fail" is a problem with having that idea in politicians heads...."

THAT, and the fact that no leader (naturally enough!) wants to be held as responsible by his ACTION or his INACTION for allowing a massive financial collapse and economic Depression to be visited upon our people.

That is WHY and HOW they can be blackmailed over-and-over by the "too-big-to-be-allowed-to-fail" institutions... in financial panic after panic.

We need to ELIMINATE the ability for one firm's collapse to be transmitted to the broader economy and precipitate mass disaster there.

Otherwise "Private Profits and Socialized Losses" will evermore me our nation's mode of business.

Re: [WHAT POSSIBLE WAY can we think of that can GUARANTEE that none of these titanic firms can go rogue and then BLOW UP disastrously?] "We can't."

Wrong.

We certainly CAN.

It is *not* an impossible task to prevent Private Profits and Socialized Losses from holding sway.
