Al, let me state the obvious. The bailout of GM and Chrysler politicized car makes. Rush Limbaugh did not.

I was amused when congressmen from Michigan were the first to call for a federal investigation of Toyota. Gee, ya think they might have an interest in seeing the Big Three's strongest competitor dragged through the mud?

P.S. - If you have to buy GM, look at the GMC Acadia. That was my rental car during my Olympic trip. Did a lot of driving between Vancouver and Whistler, which is connected by a twisty highway, along with plenty of Vancouver city driving. The car was very good. Just one complaint ... the car is advertised as a "crossover" but IMO it is way too big for that label.
