GZ, are you an idiot? "We could overcome all of the things that will be our undoing -- all of it. If there is a reason to think we will not, we can see it every time we look in the mirror. You, me, and everybody else -- all of us -- are incapable collectively of getting anything done. For many Americans, the very thought of getting anything done collectively is itself an idea spawned in hell by Satan, as if being completely dysfunctional was some sort of badge of honor. For many others, we are just too cynical to believe we have any hope of a future better than the past we conjure up in our minds as some idealized cartoon. For about fifteen minutes, after the election of Obama, there was a suspension of disbelief and the knives were put away. Only an idiot fights in a burning house. But in less time than it takes to organize a lynch mob in a town full of KKK, the dogs from political hell were barking again. For his part, Obama proved proved to be utterly incapable of flexing anything that might look like a muscle -- and most of us got tired of hearing the call for change, and then watching him endorse the status quo. So it would seem our fate is sealed. We will watch our country die as we descend into idiotic debates about nothing, prosecuted in a sprit of mutual contempt and ideological hubris. We will spit at each other while our nation burns. We will hold lunacy up to the light and declare it brilliant. We will devise conspiracy theories that only a fool would buy. We will buy guns and ammo as if we were taking our advice from some perverted image of what John Wayne would do, shooting his way out of his house to go buy milk -- if there is any milk to buy. Our nation will die because, collectively, we can't even have a simple polite conversation -- much less an intelligent one. And without being able to even talk, we will never be able to act. No wonder our elites rob and rape us at will. We are pathetic."
