I rail against socialized medicine. I am covered by Medicare because I am over 65. I don't have any real choice but to accept it. I don't have to like it but I do have to accept it.

Do you really expect people to commit suicide or leave the country when they reach 65 just to avoide coverage by Medicare? If they don't, they're hypocrites? Harikiri or dishonor? Ridiculous.

No person, including Ronald Reagan, is/was exempt from paying Medicare tax. Being against it doesn't relieve you from having to pay for it. You may be against something like medicare, but once it becomes the law of the land, you must pay. Why should RR or anyone walk away from something they paid for, even if that wasn't their preferred political choice? How does getting something you paid for indicate that you are unprincipled in some way? You keep saying this, GG, but it really doesn't add up.
