producing idiots that can't perform. Oh, they can work. We have set up a system where the bottom people don't have to. We went into this back in the 30's with the laudable purpose of "taking care of the widows and orphans." Plus the Federal Reserve wiped out the money supply in the early 30's and made jobs unavailable, so we added a limited dole. Like Topsy, this whole thing "growed."

Part of the problem is that the standards are so low that losing is winning. Nonperformance is rewarded with gold stars. Dumb ideas are given bonus points for effort. Trying is considered as good as succeeding. The truth is that children would want to do well and excel were these considered truly desirable. Instead, they are being groomed for mediocrity. Just look at Obama for an example and he's supposed to be the creme de la creme. Yeah, right.
