One can always count on Congressional grandstanding, I suppose.

As previously noted here, the fact that Hatch represents Novell's home state is purely coincidental to these proceedings.

I guess he figures DoJ just can't be trusted to do it's job, right? Let's see, "Senator questions Justice's competence in Microsoft probe". Yeah, that's the headline I'm sure he's angling for. :)

Orrin Hatch is from Utah. MSFT caused the downfall of Word Perfect and Novell which put a pretty large dent in Utah's software industry. I am not surprised that this senator would be out to get MSFT. However, I'm quite sure that Senators such as Slade Gordon from Washington State see things in a different light.
