Although not addressed to me, I'll comment.

The only part of the system that is "socialized" is the insurance. Generally the hospitals and doctors are private.

I am generally pleased with the excellent care provided by our system although demographics and ever more expensive medications and procedures add cost pressures. To help contain costs the first few thousand dollars of annual care received should be a taxable benefit to the recipient.

Overall the socialized part of the system covers about 70% of medical costs with the balance paid directly by individuals or private insurance.

Wait times are occasionally somewhat of a problem but not nearly to the extent that right wing pundits would have you believe.
