John Wayne once said, "the only thing Lee Marvin is better at than I am is singing." Well, neither could sing. But Lee could act. Wayne could play a glorified version of himself. Lee could be a war hero while Wayne chickened out of going to war, and was actually laughed at by combat Marines. Wayne was the better football player.

Neither was that lucky in his romantic entanglements.

Marlon's real life seemed like it sucked to me.
