Curious how Buffett has no big gambles on his resume that I know of.

Some say that his Amex investment during the salad oil scandal counts as a big gamble. People who are smarter than I have run through the numbers and made the case that he was all in, and significantly leveraged.

As to whether this really was a gamble, the old W. C. Fields line does come to mind:

Prospective poker player: "Is this a game of chance?"
Fields: "Not the way I play it, no."
