Where were you when we were fighting the Iraq war using our credit card, hiding the cost in our budgets. All those folks, particularly the Republicans who could have forced Bush's hands at that time, kept quiet and never raised any concern about borrowing from the future to fight a worthless war. You think Saddam is worth all that much?

Right now,, let us worry about the present and the future will take care of itself. Since we did not worry about the present in 2004 to 2006 and fought a war based on credit, we are in a bad shape today. Now, we are poised for take off, judging from the comeback of several bailed out entities such as banks, GM and very soon Citigroup. This is not the time to "change horses midstream" to borrow the campaign theme from Bush Sr.

The right wing talking points should quit sabotaging the progress of this country. They have done enough to destroy it.

Is there a way to hedge against this inflation and, if so, what are the methods?

We survived the inflation and high interest rates in the 1980's and we'll do it again.
Isn't it fascinating how the opposition all have identical talking-points with the exact same verbiage,,,,,,,sheep

So bring the legions home from Germania, Gaul, Britannia, Babylon, and Asia, put a 90% tax on income >$10M, and buy some gold. We don't solve this stuff, the richies will all have to move to China like Jimmy Rogers, anyway, so we may as well tax them out. Time for them to pay, or leave if they don't like it.
The time to worry about deficits was when they showed up in '02. Interestingly enuf, FY '02 was the first budget Shrub submitted, and the 2009 budget, with the whopping increase, is his, too. You'll notice Shrub didn't include the cost of war, war in his, either .
See the projection in 9/08? GWB. Were you posting about the deficit in 8/08?

I presume you can link us to posts of yours from '02 complaining about deficit spending, right? Also some pointing out how bad it was that we were warring off budget?
