IMHO, you're only partially right about that gs. Teachers have their hands tied when it comes to disciplining students. They have lost many valuable tools in that arena. And just like affirmative action, the kids quickly learn they can abuse the system & get away with murder.

Not only does that affect problem students, it affects most of the class when you have to spend so much extra time dealing with the miscreants.

And to a lesser extent, teachers have less tools at their disposal regarding students with issues . Many parents will not allow teachers to move their kids into other classes better suited for troubled students so the whole class suffers.

I certainly have no sympathy with the whining about overworked & underpaid issue. But I do have sympathy over what the NEA & school Administrations have allowed to happen regarding discipline, slow learners & troubled students. It's wrong & it's hurting all students because of it.
