Interesting timing today given the forthcoming announcement from CISCO.

More importantly, I do find it significant that Terry Turpin will be at Roth for all three days. Don't forget, this is the guy that said early on,

“For over thirty years, I have been searching for materials of this sort in my development of truly revolutionary signal processing equipment. Lightwave Logic’s new materials could dramatically improve the design and performance of current optical processors, devices which we have demonstrated can greatly out-perform state-of-the-art digital computers in a number of key operations.”

I don't think he would give up that amount of time unless they had something major to announce.

Lightwave Logic Verifies Successful Electrical and Optical Performance of Its Prototype Phase Modulators

Focus on application engineering partnerships with large system suppliers

NEWARK, Del., March 12, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Lightwave Logic, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: LWLG) a technology company focused on the development of the 'Next Generation Electro-Optic Polymer Material Platform' for applications in high speed fiber-optic data communications and optical computing, announced the successful electrical and optical performance testing of its prototype phase modulator, which concludes the Scientific evaluation stage of its testing.

"These successful test results now enable us to exit the scientific evaluation mode and move forward with the Application Engineering of our technology in customer design environments," stated Jim Marcelli, CEO. "We will now begin working directly with interested large system suppliers to attempt to engineer specific individual product materials and device designs for sale to or by these suppliers -- which substantially moves us towards the revenue stage of our development."

"We selected the phase modulator structure for initial fabrication because it is the telecommunications industry's preferred deployment of high speed modulator technology," said Dave Eaton, CTO of Lightwave Logic, "and once we overcome any engineering issues that may arise, we expect to see the successful use of our technology within the telecommunications industry."
