You think parents know more about education than teachers?

The parents have a right to choose how their children should be educated.

And I do not know how we can claim teachers know as much when they take to teaching because they have to and not because they want to. A teacher, if offered higher pay elsewhere in the industry would be the first to take it. If they did it for the love of their job, then they would not picket for higher salaries.

koan, you cannot convince me that US teachers who drive to work are any match for the barefoot teachers in countries such as India, Phillipines, China etc. when I visited my KG teacher who is fallen on very hard times as a widow, I offered her some money. She refused and instead told her son, daughter-in-law and grandkids with tears in her eyes, how proud she was of me for having made it to the US and that I felt that she played a major role for teaching me the ABCs.

This is something money can't buy and philosophers cannot explain away.
