Just read that book, "One Second After," by William Forstchen. It's an excellent read and I highly recommend it. The book focuses on what a total breakdown of communications, transportation and commodity deliver would be like. I found it very believable and very scary. In the end, it would come down to us and our neighbors and friends to keep things together and to survive. Scary stuff.
