The officer should have given him a ticket for not properly operating his car. Anyone should know to use the emergency brake, and he should have known the procedure to turn off the car. He had time, it probably took an hour for a Prius to accelerate to 94.

I don't understand why those people didn't turn the engine off....... It happened to me many years ago with a new Chevy....in passing gear the pedal got stuck behind the firewall.... I just put in neutral and turned the key off....

That's the first Prius story I've heard....but we wouldn't give ours up on a bet..
