But it's different this time! ;o)

Anyone who studies history knows that society never learns from it's mistakes. While walking past a classroom last night I noticed a point at the top of the slide on the screen which said "500 banks had failed". I thought "how forward thinking that they are teaching this to students!" so I stopped to read the rest of the slide. It was from FDR's time, about the time they closed all the banks for a "bank holiday".

The one thing that was learned and implemented from the Great Depression was the Glass Steagall act, and that was overturned by Congress without a peep from the people.
